Intermediate Software Developer, Cloud Backend

As an Intermediate Software Developer at Evertz, you will play a key role in designing, building, and scaling backend services for broadcasting platforms. You will collaborate with various teams to ensure secure, reliable, and high-performance systems.

**Key Responsibilities:**

• Participate in design discussions with stakeholders for adding or improving features
• Take features from scoping requirements to actual launch on the cloud platform
• Design and document requirements, features, and APIs
• Collaborate closely with UI and QA teams
• Work with the SRE team to enhance system observability and incident response
• Develop high-quality, well-tested code meeting deployment standards
• Participate in code reviews, continuous learning, and mentor junior engineers

**Qualification Requirements:**

• 34 years of professional software development experience
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience with Python
• 3 years of experience developing REST APIs, with at least 1 year using AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, and API Gateway
• Experience with AWS services such as IAM, EventBridge, SNS, SQS, and EC2
• Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts including VPCs, subnets, and security groups
• Experience writing Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, AWS CDK, or Terraform)
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
• Passion for writing unit tests and delivering high-quality software
• Experience working with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and agile development practices

**Nice to Have:**

• Exposure to OpenTelemetry or distributed tracing tools
• Experience working with API specifications (OpenAPI/Swagger)
• Basic understanding of end-to-end testing frameworks
