Job Description
As the Head Security & Vigilance at the organization, your main role is to protect people, assets, information, and the reputation of the company. You will be responsible for designing and leading a robust security, vigilance, and risk management framework across all locations. Your duties will include preventing, detecting, and investigating fraud, misconduct, theft, sabotage, and security threats while maintaining strong coordination with law enforcement, regulators, and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement end-to-end physical security strategy for plants, warehouses, offices, data centres, and project sites.
- Oversee deployment and performance of security agencies, guards, access control, perimeter security, CCTV, and surveillance systems.
- Ensure protection of critical assets, materials, finished goods, and high-value inventory.
- Conduct periodic security audits, vulnerability assessments, and risk mapping.
- Lead vigilance framework for prevention and investigation of fraud, corruption, theft, conflict of interest, and ethical misconduct.
- Conduct fact-based, confidential investigations into complaints, whistle-blower cases, and management referrals.
- Prepare investigation reports with clear findings, root causes, and recommended actions.
- Coordinate with HR, Legal, Finance, and Audit on disciplinary actions and remediation.
- Identify fraud-prone areas and work closely with Internal Audit to strengthen controls and preventive mechanisms.
- Track and report fraud loss prevention and recovery metrics.
- Lead response to security incidents, thefts, violence, unrest, natural disasters, cyber-physical threats, and emergency situations.
- Develop and periodically test crisis response and evacuation plans.
- Act as a single point of contact for law enforcement, local administration, and emergency services.
- Ensure robust security and background verification of security vendors, contractors, transporters, and critical third parties.
- Monitor contract labour movement, gate controls, material movement, and logistics security.
- Prevent pilferage, diversion, and supply chain leakages.
- Ensure compliance with Factories Act, Industrial Disputes Act, local security regulations, and statutory norms.
- Maintain strong documentation, SOPs, incident logs, and compliance records.
- Drive the use of technology-led security solutions such as integrated CCTV & command centres, access control & biometrics, and incident reporting systems.
- Collaborate with IT on cyber-physical risk convergence where applicable.
- Build and lead a high-integrity, disciplined security & vigilance team.
- Set KRAs, monitor performance, and ensure continuous skill up-gradation.
- Create a culture of zero tolerance to misconduct with fairness and confidentiality.
Candidate Profile:
Qualifications:
- Graduate (mandatory); Post-graduate preferred
- Ex-Defence / Paramilitary / Police / Intelligence background or senior corporate security professional
- Certifications in Security Management / Risk Management / Fraud Examination preferred
Experience:
- 1525+ years of experience in Security, Vigilance, Risk, or Investigations
- Strong exposure to manufacturing plants, large workforces, unions, and contractor ecosystems
- Proven experience handling complex investigations and crisis situations
