Job Description
As an Apparel Merchandiser, you will play a crucial role in managing buyer accounts independently, overseeing the entire order process from placement to shipment. Your responsibilities will include coordinating sample development to meet buyer specifications, sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, and finalizing costing sheets to ensure profitability targets are met. Additionally, you will be responsible for monitoring production timelines, ensuring on-time delivery, and collaborating with quality departments to maintain product standards. Acting as the primary point of contact for buyers, you will handle orders, address queries, and provide updates promptly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Order Management: Independently handle buyer accounts from order placement to shipment.
- Sampling & Development: Coordinate various sample stages (proto, fit, size set, salesman) to meet buyer requirements.
- Sourcing & Costing: Source materials, negotiate with suppliers, and finalize costing sheets for profitability.
- Production Planning: Monitor production timelines, in-house accessories/trims, and ensure timely delivery.
- Quality Control: Collaborate with quality departments to uphold product standards.
- Communication: Serve as the main contact for buyers regarding orders, queries, and updates.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in apparel merchandising, particularly in woven/knitted products.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of fabric, production techniques, and costing.
- Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Software: Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
- Education: Degree in Fashion Merchandising, Textile Engineering, or related field.
In addition to the above responsibilities and qualifications, you should have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects effectively, and be willing to travel to factories, suppliers, or client locations as needed.
Please note that this is a full-time position with a salary range of 20,000.00 - 30,000.00 per month. The work location for this role is in person.
