You will be working as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Xylem, a Fortune 500 global water solutions company dedicated to advancing sustainable impact and empowering individuals who work with water every day. With over 23,000 employees in more than 150 countries, Xylem is committed to addressing critical water challenges through innovative and sustainable solutions. **Role Overview:** As a Mechanical Design Engineer, your role will involve creating 3D models, plant layouts, piping layouts, and CAD drawings for Water and Wastewater treatment plants. You will also be responsible for generating isometric drawings, understanding P&ID and PFD, and designing skid-based water treatment systems. **Key Responsibilities:** - Create 3D models and CAD drawings for engineered products and process equipment - Interpret P&ID, PFD, and equipment datasheets for design purposes - Convert 2D drawings to 3D models and perform reverse engineering when necessary - Generate Bill of Materials (BOMs) in the ERP system - Maintain and update metadata of designs in the PDM/PLM system - Collaborate cross-functionally to prepare plant layouts and piping layouts **Qualifications Required:** - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with First Class - 3 to 5 years of experience in 3D CAD using Autodesk Inventor - Familiarity with AutoCAD and Solidworks is advantageous - Proficiency in "Frame generator" and "Tube & pipe" modules of Inventor - Experience in plant and equipment design in Water and Wastewater Treatment or related fields - Knowledge of piping standards, material standards, and codes applicable to water treatment systems - Exposure to international collaboration for engineering design - Strong communication skills and self-driven attitude - Proficiency in MS Office for documentation and presentations By joining Xylem, you will contribute to innovative technology solutions that transform water usage, conservation, and re-use across various sectors.
