DevOps Lead

Role Overview: As a DevOps Lead at Kenvue, you will play a crucial role in establishing a streamlined, scalable, and secure infrastructure to support the development and deployment of backend services. Your main focus will be on automating CI/CD pipelines, optimizing cloud infrastructure, and implementing DevOps practices throughout the software development lifecycle. Additionally, you will be involved in designing robust microservices, enhancing system performance, and ensuring fault tolerance. Your expertise in backend engineering will be utilized to develop APIs, integrate databases, and optimize messaging queues. You will be responsible for smooth deployments, high system uptime, and providing guidance to both development and operations teams. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable backend solutions will also be a key part of your role. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the implementation of DevOps best practices, including automating CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as code (IaC), and container orchestration. - Design, build, and maintain scalable and secure backend services using microservices architecture. - Collaborate with development teams to integrate DevOps practices into the software development lifecycle. - Optimize cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for enhanced system performance, scalability, and cost efficiency. - Ensure reliability and high availability of backend services through monitoring, logging, and fault tolerance strategies. - Implement and maintain secure networking, firewalls, and access controls. - Develop and maintain backend APIs, integrate databases, and optimize messaging queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ). - Automate testing, deployment, and rollback processes to ensure zero-downtime releases. - Conduct root cause analysis of production errors and drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency. - Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership in DevOps and backend best practices. Qualification Required: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - 6+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or Backend Engineer with strong DevOps experience. - Expertise in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines and automation. - Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure). - Proficiency in backend development with Nodejs, Python, or Java, and experience in microservices architecture. - Understanding of databases (SQL, NoSQL) and messaging queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ). - Knowledge of security best practices and network infrastructure. - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. - Experience in mentoring junior engineers and providing technical guidance.
