Database Manager

Design, develop, and maintain scalable database architecture including structures, features, and performance optimizations to meet organizational data needs.

Lead, hire, train, and mentor database development/administration teams while ensuring high standards of data integrity, quality, and availability.

Implement robust data security policies, backup/recovery procedures, access controls, and compliance measures (GDPR, HIPAA) to protect sensitive information.

Monitor database performance through diagnostic tests, metrics analysis, capacity planning, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and optimize resource utilization.

Perform regular maintenance tasks including upgrades, migrations, patching, indexing, tuning, and hardware/software enhancements.

Collaborate with stakeholders, developers, and business teams to understand data requirements, build custom reports/dashboards, and support data-driven decision-making.

Conduct data audits, enforce entry procedures, and document all processes following industry best practices and legal regulations.

Prepare and present system performance reports, forecasts, and recommendations to senior management for strategic planning.

Stay current with database technologies, cloud solutions, and emerging trends.

Manage vendor relationships, evaluate tools, and execute disaster recovery drills to ensure business continuity.
