Job Description
As a Data Modeller at Barclays, you will play a crucial role in spearheading the evolution of the digital landscape and driving innovation and excellence. Your primary responsibility will be to harness cutting-edge technology to revolutionize digital offerings, ensuring unparalleled customer experiences. Working as part of a team of developers, you will be tasked with delivering a technology stack and using strong analytical and problem-solving skills to understand business requirements and deliver quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and desired functionality for the data product, translating these requirements into clear data modeling specifications.
- Design and implement high-quality data models that optimize data access, storage, and analysis while ensuring alignment with BCDM.
- Create comprehensive and well-maintained documentation of data models, including entity relationship diagrams, data dictionaries, and usage guidelines.
- Collaborate with data engineers to test and validate data models and obtain sign-off from key stakeholders on logical and physical data models.
- Continuously monitor and optimize the performance of models and data solutions to ensure efficient data retrieval and processing.
- Collaborate with data engineers to translate logical data models into physical data models throughout the development lifecycle.
- Manage the 'BAU' data model and solution covering enhancements and changes.
- Assist in defining the legacy estate migration and decommissioning roadmap for the assigned BUK data domain.
Qualifications Required:
- Experience in data modeling and working with business stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in creating entity relationship diagrams and data dictionaries.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with testing and validating data models.
