Cyber Security Engineering Lead

As a Security Engineering Lead at GlobalData, you will be responsible for designing, building, and operating scalable security solutions to protect the organizations infrastructure, applications, and data. You will work closely with Engineering, Cloud, and GRC teams to embed security practices across the technology stack. Your key responsibilities will include: - Leading the security engineering function, setting technical direction, and execution priorities - Designing and implementing security controls across cloud, infrastructure, applications, and endpoints - Partnering with Engineering and DevOps to incorporate security into SDLC and CI/CD pipelines - Conducting application security reviews for new systems, major features, and high-risk changes across different services - Defining and maintaining secure architecture patterns for authentication, authorization, APIs, data protection, and multi-tenant isolation - Managing the application security tooling stack (SAST, DAST, SCA) and integrating it into CI/CD processes - Collaborating with Security Operations to enhance application-level logging, telemetry, and incident response readiness - Serving as a trusted advisor to engineering teams, providing guidance, documentation, and training - Driving threat modeling, secure architecture reviews, and security design standards - Leading vulnerability management, remediation tracking, and risk-based prioritization - Working with GRC to support audits, risk assessments, and compliance requirements - Providing clear security posture metrics and reporting to senior leadership - Building, mentoring, and scaling a high-performing security engineering team in India Qualifications required for this role include: - 10+ years of experience in security engineering, infrastructure security, or application security - Demonstrated experience in designing or operating Secure SDLC practices - Hands-on expertise in web and API security, including authentication, authorization, and common vulnerability classes - Proven experience integrating security tools into modern engineering environments - Strong threat modeling and secure design skills for complex, cloud-native systems - Experience with modern backend, frontend, or mobile stacks - Familiarity with AWS and cloud-native architectures - Knowledge and experience securing AI-generated code - Strong experience securing cloud platforms like AWS and Azure - Experience with DevSecOps, container security, and infrastructure-as-code - Scripting or automation experience in Python, Bash, Terraform - Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field In addition, as a part of GlobalData's culture, we believe strongly in the value of diversity and creating a supportive, inclusive environment where every employee is treated with equality and respect.
