Job Description
As a Cost Accountant in the manufacturing industry, your role will involve owning the Period-End Closing (FI/CO) & Reporting in SAP. This includes performing CO-PA, production/process orders, sales orders, projects/WBS, and internal orders results analysis and settlements. You will also be responsible for maintaining cycle runs and allocations, uploading actuals into Cognos, and reconciling inventory and WIP.
Your key responsibilities will include performing Material Costing & Inventory Valuation by conducting material cost estimates, costing runs, origin calculations, and future price updates. You will also execute valuation adjustments and strategic stock checks. Additionally, you will manage Asset Accounting by overseeing fixed asset accounting and reporting, including capitalization and depreciation checks.
In the realm of Project Accounting, you will create and maintain WBS elements, support capitalization, and assist in month-end processing for projects/WBS/Networks. You will be involved in Transfer Pricing by supporting stock transfer pricing and CO-PA template allocations and coordinating updates to definitions/rates. Furthermore, you will play a role in Governance & Continuous Improvement by maintaining SOPs, risk/controls, and closing checklists, standardizing processes, and identifying automation opportunities.
Your expertise in SAP will be crucial as you support SAP Rollout & Hypercare activities, such as data validation, cutover, and hypercare for new SAP go-lives. You will act as a central CO expert and a Subject Matter Expert in CO, building deep SAP CO knowledge, providing expert guidance and problem-solving, and contributing to knowledge base development.
Qualifications required for this role include being a CA/ICWA/CMA with 5-10 years of experience as a Cost Accountant in manufacturing with strong SAP CO exposure (CO-PA, CO-PC, CO-OM).
