Role Overview:
As a Construction Manager at vConstruct, you will be responsible for leading construction projects in the Advance Tech market in India, with a specific focus on Data Centre projects. Your role will involve overseeing the project from inception to handover, leading a team of resources from various technical backgrounds, and collaborating with key project stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a detailed Project Charter that outlines the project requirements, key stakeholders, procurement plan, and critical milestones for successful project completion. Align stakeholders with the Charter and prepare a draft Project Execution Plan.
- Provide inputs for sequencing activities in the master schedule, guide the project Planning Manager in finalizing the schedules, and update budgets based on available details and market data.
- Lead the tendering process, analyze tender documents, and evaluate technical submissions by vendors. Conduct vendor evaluation and manage the Tender Event Schedule.
- Plan Value Engineering workshops, identify cost optimization opportunities, and guide the planning and design management teams.
- Coordinate with team members, proactively manage risks, collaborate with clients, design teams, and construction contractors, and conduct regular reviews to ensure project delivery plans are intact.
- Prepare a detailed change management process, review changes during project stages, and ensure updates are included in periodic reports to the client.
- Manage contract administration, prepare draft contracts, respond to queries from contractors/vendors, and support the client's team in legal issues or arbitrations.
- Coordinate project handover and closeout, develop handover documents, and ensure timely closure of project scopes.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to capture lessons learned and review feedback for continuous improvement in project delivery.
Qualification Required:
- Education: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Master/Advance Tech studies in related areas preferred.
- Experience: 15-18 years of overall experience in the Indian market, with experience working with a contracting company in the last 8-10 years and managing contracting scopes for at least 2 large-sized data center projects.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of construction practices, MEP equipment, procurement, supply chain, installation, testing, commissioning, and familiarity with BIM technologies.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, planning, problem-solving skills, willingness to learn new technologies, and open to relocating for project leadership.
