Role Overview:
As the Chief Human Resources Officer at CMR Group of Institutions & Ekya Schools, you will be responsible for partnering with institutional leadership to design and execute a future-ready people strategy. Your role will involve strategic business partnering, data-driven HR leadership, culture-building, and systems transformation to support rapid growth, academic excellence, and operational sustainability. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, ensuring that people's decisions directly enable educational impact and financial strength.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Partnership with Institutional Leadership
- Partner with University Deans, Regional Heads, Principals, and School Leaders to ensure HR initiatives directly support growth, enrolment, academic quality, and operational priorities.
- Provide insights on workforce capability, succession planning, leadership pipeline, and organizational design.
- Translate people analytics into actionable strategies.
- Coach senior leaders using a data-led approach.
- Advise on complex employee relations matters.
- Ensure workforce planning aligns with expansion plans.
- Systems, Governance & HR Transformation
- Drive adoption and optimization of modern HRIS platforms across campuses.
- Act as People Data Steward ensuring accuracy, governance, compliance, and integrity of employee data.
- Modernize HR processes.
- Ensure compliance with Indian labor laws and education regulatory requirements.
- Lead HR transformation projects.
- Safer Recruitment & Talent Acquisition Excellence
- Establish rigorous recruitment practices.
- Build a strong employer brand.
- Embed diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging principles.
- Use recruitment analytics to improve attraction quality.
- Ensure leadership hiring reflects institutional standards.
- Performance Development & Talent Growth
- Drive a high-quality performance management framework.
- Lead talent review and succession planning processes.
- Design leadership development pathways.
- Ensure high-performing employees have development plans.
- Maintain internal mobility frameworks.
- Recognition, Reward & Financial Sustainability
- Design compensation and recognition frameworks.
- Partner with Finance for compensation reviews.
- Recognize high-impact contributions.
- Ensure reward philosophy balances performance and retention.
- Employee Experience & Culture Building
- Lead employee engagement surveys.
- Champion wellbeing initiatives.
- Foster a culture of belonging.
- Support new campus onboarding.
- Embed inclusive leadership practices.
Qualification Required:
- 1218+ years of progressive HR experience
- 5+ years in senior HR leadership
- Experience in education or multi-unit organizations preferred
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Data-driven, tech-forward, and execution-focused
