Role Overview:
As the Global Head of Cyber Defence at Apex Group, you will play a crucial role in building, managing, and enhancing the cybersecurity posture of the organization. Reporting to the Group Chief Information Security Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing the global security operations center, improving incident detection and response capabilities, and ensuring that the organization is equipped with the necessary people, processes, and technologies to address the evolving cyber threat landscape. Your role will involve providing strategic direction for threat detection, incident response, security monitoring, and cyber resilience to proactively safeguard Apexs information assets, client data, and critical services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver the Group CISO Cyber Strategy and Target Operating Model
- Define and execute Apexs global cyber defence strategy aligned with risk appetite and business priorities
- Provide leadership to regional cyber defence teams, ensuring a consistent operating model
- Act as a senior cyber security leader and advisor to executive management
- Oversee global security operations, including SOC capabilities and threat intelligence
- Drive continuous improvement in tooling, automation, and security analytics
- Own Apexs cyber incident response capability and lead response to major incidents
- Strengthen cyber resilience through effective vulnerability management and defensive controls
- Engage with regulators, clients, and external partners on cyber defence matters
- Build and maintain a high-performing global cyber defence team
- Lead and develop global cyber Technical and Operational Services teams
- Manage strategic cyber security vendors and service providers
Qualifications Required:
- Minimum of 10 years of cybersecurity experience, with at least 7 years in senior leadership roles
- Deep technical knowledge of cyber threats, incident response, and defensive technologies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Business acumen and analytical skills
- Strong understanding of cloud security, third-party risk, and modern technology environments
- Relevant degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC preferred
