Job Description
As a Java Engineer at BlackRock, you will be part of the Studio team responsible for building an integration platform for different Aladdin products and solutions. You will have the opportunity to work on next-generation technologies and solutions, designing and building large-scale data storage, computation, and distribution systems. Your role will involve collaborating with data and analytics experts to deliver high-quality analytical and derived data to consumers.
**Role Overview:**
You will be expected to be involved in projects from inception, understanding requirements, architecting, developing, deploying, and maintaining studio products and services. Working in a multi-disciplinary squad following Agile methodology will require you to partner with program and product managers to expand product offerings based on business demands. Your goal will be to drive user engagement and adoption of the platform while constantly modernizing and improving performance and scalability.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Architect and build scalable distributed applications
- Work with React, Java, Golang, SQL, and Linux
- Build Micro Front End solutions
- Utilize Event Driven Architecture, Micro Services, and Cloud technologies
- Implement object-oriented design patterns
- Use dev ops tools like Git, Maven, Jenkins, Gitlab CI, Azure DevOps
- Apply Agile development concepts and related tools
- Troubleshoot and fix performance issues across the codebase and database queries
- Ensure adherence to BlackRock's UX and design standards
- Contribute towards the upkeep of those standards
- Prepare user documentation for development and operations continuity
**Qualifications Required:**
- BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- 4+ years' experience delivering medium to large scale enterprise solutions
- Experience with troubleshooting and fixing performance issues
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Passion for learning and implementing new technologies
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
