Job Description
Role Overview:
You will be responsible for conducting market research to support supplier sourcing, identifying and building new suppliers in Best Cost Country locations, assessing supplier capabilities, leading the RFQ process, defining and implementing sourcing strategies, developing the supply base, and managing supplier contracts and agreements. Additionally, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, participate in on-site supplier evaluations, manage supplier deliverables, and collaborate with global stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct market research on industry size, key players, customer segments, company size, revenue, upcoming technologies, and SWOT analysis
- Identify and establish communication with new suppliers in Best Cost Country locations for key strategic categories
- Assess supplier capabilities across manufacturing, quality, cost, reliability, and compliance
- Lead the RFQ process by developing and issuing RFQs, collaborating with suppliers and internal teams
- Support in defining and implementing sourcing strategies supported by sourcing analysis and make-vs-buy analysis
- Develop the supply base by building strategic relationships supporting Stryker business for India based suppliers
- Coordinate on-site supplier evaluations, participate in supplier audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Negotiate, establish, monitor, and enforce supplier contracts and agreements
- Lead and collaborate with internal teams to onboard suppliers into the Stryker system
- Manage supplier deliverables and internal requirements to facilitate product transfers
- Collaborate with global stakeholders to gather data for RFQ analysis
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelors degree in mechanical/electronics engineering, supply management, or related field
- Minimum 8 years applicable sourcing, supplier development, or supply chain experience
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven track record of identifying and building supplier base for the medical device industry with knowledge of ISO 13485 standards
- Experience of strategic sourcing and supplier development best practices
- Demonstrated excellence in contractual negotiations and administration
- Strong knowledge of key categories such as metals, plastics, electronics, and others
- Experience of managing suppliers in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge and skills in current technologies and applications
- Demonstrated experience in presenting to and influencing others
