Job Description
You will be joining a team as an Analyst/Sr Analyst/Lead Analyst where you will be involved in supporting research, design, prototyping, and implementation of new analytical methodologies on climate risk and opportunities, as well as environment and nature topics. Your collaboration with a global team will play a crucial role in conducting analysis and ensuring insight quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Support S&P Global in developing new analytical methodologies on climate physical risk, climate risk and opportunities, nature, and environment topics.
Enhance and maintain existing methodologies.
Implement methodologies in S&P proprietary data platforms focusing on automation, efficiency, and quality assurance.
Uphold quality and transparency by engaging in the Research Governance framework.
Manage key project components with internal and external partners.
Clearly communicate insights and technical approaches, including documentation for different audiences.
Work with a global team to ensure the quality of insights.
Create reports, factsheets, blog posts, and materials for various audiences.
Shape S&P Global's climate and sustainability product innovation roadmap by providing market feedback.
Key Technical Skills:
Strong quantitative background with relevant experience.
Proficiency in data science and coding languages such as Python, R, SQL, or any other coding languages.
Experience with Databricks is considered valuable.
Subject Matter Expertise:
Climate or atmospheric science.
Climate modeling.
Hazard modeling (e.g., floods, precipitation, drought).
Catastrophe modeling and insurance.
Emissions factors.
Input-output models.
Nature and biodiversity.
Requirements:
3-7 years of relevant technical experience working on projects involving Python/R/SQL or any other coding languages.
Experience in one or more subject matter expertise listed above.
Strong quantitative background with a preference for an Engineering/Environmental Engineering degree (IIT preferable) or Graduation/Post-Graduation in climate science/sustainability or any other Natural Sciences related background with post-qualification experience.
Strong project management skills would be beneficial.
