Role Overview:
As a Senior AI Engineer at bp, you will be a key player in the company's transition towards becoming a leading renewable energy provider and achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050. Your primary responsibility will be to architect and maintain the infrastructure supporting AI and ML initiatives across the organization. You will work closely with the technology team to design, develop, and optimize scalable and reliable AI platforms on Azure and AWS cloud services, Databricks, OpenAI, and Azure DevOps.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable AI/ML infrastructure on Azure and AWS.
- Build and manage cloud-native infrastructure for AI workloads using tools like Terraform and Bicep.
- Create self-service tooling, templates, and CI/CD workflows for data scientists and ML engineers.
- Govern AI systems with access control, audit trails, policy enforcement, and compliance monitoring.
- Implement GenAI workloads using various platforms such as Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, and Hugging Face.
- Collaborate with security and architecture teams to embed cloud security guidelines in the AI platform.
- Mentor junior engineers, providing technical leadership and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or master's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a numerate degree.
