Job Description
Role Overview:
As an Advanced Process Control Engineer at Rockwell Automation, you will be an integral part of custom application delivery teams. Your main responsibility will be to utilize Rockwell Automation's advanced analytics and model predictive control products to develop online applications that aim to enhance the manufacturing processes of customers. You will analyze the customer's processes, create mathematical models for predicting system behavior, and configure online applications to calculate process setpoints that will optimize product quality, production capacity, and energy usage. Your role will involve overseeing the technical implementation of projects from the initial design phase to commissioning and customer acceptance, including hardware installation and system integration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform technical project activities such as design, system integration, data analysis, modeling, application development, site installation, and commissioning as assigned by the Regional Technical Manager (RTM).
- Identify technical issues that may impact project performance and report them to the RTM.
- Support the RTM with project-related information on cost performance, performance guarantee status, and documentation of best practices.
- Lead advanced analytics projects and provide mentorship to less experienced engineers.
- Provide product, engineering, and application support to existing customers.
- Conduct system and application health checks, performance analyses, and develop reports to document findings.
- Support Solution Consultant in market development activities and participate in sales closure activities as requested.
- Undertake professional development to remain billable and cost-effective.
- Assist in project staffing to maximize the overall delivery department margin.
- Ensure project delivery meets customer expectations, stays within budget, and aligns with the contract scope.
- Maintain project or contract margin, achieve relevant industry certifications, and utilize PQSW (Project, Quote, Sales, Warranty) at or above target levels.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's or equivalent degree in chemical engineering or another engineering field with a focus on modeling, statistics, or process control.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in implementing advanced control solutions in a process manufacturing environment.
- Strong interest in automation, process control, and advanced model-predictive applications.
- Experience leading complex projects in a process industry.
- Proficiency with instrumentation, industrial control systems, and supervisory control applications.
- Knowledge of DCS (SCADA, HMI, etc.) and PLC configuration.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, including occasional international projects.
- Ability to comply with customer safety and health requirements, including drug tests and safety training.
