Role Overview:
As an Accounting Associate (Statutory Audit) at Caterpillar Inc., you will be joining a global team of makers, problem solvers, and future world builders who are dedicated to creating stronger and more sustainable communities. Your role will involve ensuring high integrity financial reporting in compliance with local GAAP / IFRS, including maintaining strong internal controls. You will play a key part in supporting the preparation of financial statements, audit schedules, and statutory reports to meet regulatory requirements and compliance obligations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare Financial Statements and audit schedules to comply with local GAAP and other regulatory requirements
- Analyze financial results to draw meaningful conclusions
- Perform Audit adjustments based on GAAP differences and transaction significance
- Reconcile local GAAP & US GAAP accounting profits
- Coordinate with statutory auditors for timely provision of information
- Collaborate with other functional groups to compile financial information for validation
- Support tax groups with data and information feed for tax compliances
- Stay updated on changes in regulations impacting statutory reporting
- Maintain strong communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications Required:
- Qualified Chartered Accountant with 0-2 years of experience or Semi qualified with 4-6 years of experience in managing statutory audits
- Experience in accounting under US GAAP & IFRS (or FRS of any Asian country)
- Proficiency in SAP or other ERP systems preferred
- Big 4 experience is a plus
- Knowledge of tax, secretarial, trade, and currency compliances advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Analytical thinking skills for root cause analysis and problem-solving
- Effective communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks effectively
