Job Description
As an Accountant - Statutory Reporting at our company, you will join an exciting team dedicated to global statutory reporting. Your role will involve supporting external audits for various Mastercard companies worldwide. The ideal candidate for this position is a self-starter with a finance background, who can develop a deep understanding of Mastercard systems and processes, consistently delivering exceptional results. If you have a strong technical accounting background and good analytical skills, this job is perfect for you.
**Role Overview:**
- Perform accounting activities such as reconciliations and journal entries to ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations
- Assist in internal financial reporting, conduct trend analysis and data mining, and assess for completeness
- Execute and support internal and external controls
- Make recommendations for process improvements to your supervisor
- Support the business partner relationship, including ad-hoc analysis and reporting
- Assist the lead accountant or team manager in providing accurate financial information to external auditors
- Collaborate with Global Shared Services Centre employees in analyzing accounting data for external audits
- Prepare lead schedules and supporting information for the external audit process
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Bachelors degree preferred; Qualified or part qualified Accountant (ACA, AMCA, ACCA)
- Sound knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, and reporting requirements
- Ability to research, interpret, and apply accounting guidance (e.g., GAAP) to ensure consistent application and adherence to accounting policies
- Consistently deliver accurate work in a timely manner
- Gain exposure to reviewing and analyzing your work for appropriate accounting treatment
- Manage and prioritize multiple requests within a condensed timeframe
- Show initiative in building relationships with colleagues from various areas within Mastercard
- Good MS Excel skills are essential
- Experience in statutory reporting in IFRS and/or US GAAP
- Experience working with external auditors and consultants is beneficial
- Oracle/Hyperion skills are beneficial
