As a WordPress Web Designer & Technical Developer working as a Part-time Contractor for an independent firm based in the U.S., your role involves executing technical improvements, building high-converting landing pages, and optimizing website performance under the guidance of the SEO & Marketing Operations Lead. This is an active role that demands disciplined implementation and proactive technical oversight. **Key Responsibilities:** - **Landing Page Development:** - Build 12 high-converting practice area or geo landing pages per month - Implement mobile-first design with clear CTA structure - Ensure delivery within 5 business days of finalized content - **Technical SEO Implementation:** - Implement structured data (LegalService, FAQPage, Article, BreadcrumbList) - Maintain clean semantic HTML structure - Update internal linking and manage canonical tags and XML sitemap - Support hreflang for multilingual pages and execute technical fixes identified in audits - **Performance Optimization:** - Maintain 85+ PageSpeed (mobile prioritized) - Optimize images, scripts, and plugins - Conduct monthly performance checks and reduce unnecessary plugin bloat - **Security & Maintenance:** - Keep up with WordPress core and approved plugin updates - Monitor backups and ensure security hardening - Commit to 24-hour response time for critical technical issues - **Basic Conversion Optimization (Limited Scope):** - Implement CTA, form, and layout adjustments as requested - Install and maintain GA4, Tag Manager, and tracking scripts - Support A/B testing when required **Qualification Required:** - 3+ years of WordPress development experience - Strong HTML/CSS skills and working knowledge of PHP - Experience with Elementor, Gutenberg, and Divi - Demonstrated PageSpeed optimization experience - Hands-on experience in structured data implementation and understanding of SEO best practices The firm you will be working with is a U.S.-based immigration law firm focused on building a high-performance, conversion-focused website.
