Job Description
As a Web Front-End Developer at Johnson Controls, you will have the opportunity to work on multiple applications while collaborating with both onshore and offshore teammates in an agile environment. Your role will involve translating complex product requirements and high-fidelity mockups into elegantly coded, usable, scalable, extensible, and maintainable user interfaces.
Responsibilities:
- Build robust, intuitive interfaces, dashboards, and customized web components for software applications using ReactJS, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML technologies.
- Write and organize clean, effective, and unit-testable code for complex user tasks and interactions.
- Collaborate with UX designers to develop, maintain, and build upon the applications design system by creating reusable components, structures, and code snippets.
- Develop and present rapid prototypes for internal teams, focus groups, and key stakeholders.
- Evaluate user requirements in collaboration with the Product Owner, engineers, and other roles to positively impact legacy programs.
- Work in a rapid development environment, emphasizing effective communication, collaboration, and high-performance culture.
- Define, manage, and prioritize personal workload effectively while setting accurate timelines for your scope of work.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in computer science, engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience building responsive websites and interfaces across various devices.
- Proficiency in ReactJS and minimum 3+ years of experience in building complex web and mobile applications.
- Expertise in HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, PHP, and CSS frameworks like Foundation or Bootstrap.
- Experience with client-side scripting, JavaScript frameworks (e.g., jQuery, Angular, React), and JavaScript build tools (e.g., grunt, gulp).
- Familiarity with React components and kits, web-related protocols, architectures, cloud platforms, SaaS applications, and Xamarin platform.
- Coding experience for Android and iOS, troubleshooting UI application memory and performance issues, and adherence to established style guide standards.
- Understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues, performance tests, quality assurance, SEO, security standards implementation, and Agile/Scrum development practices.
- Proficiency in Chrome developer tools, Jira, Confluence, prototyping tools (e.g., Adobe XD, InVision Studio), and updating design systems.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and desire to work within a fast-paced, iterative development environment.
