VP- Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Role Overview: As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will combine software and systems to help build a world-class engineering function. You will work with your team to focus on improving production applications and systems to creatively solve operations problems. Much of the support and software development will involve optimizing existing systems, building infrastructure, and eliminating work through automation. Key Responsibilities: - 10 years of IT experience in systems engineering, software development, and production support in mission-critical environments - Experience with modern agile software delivery practices such as scrum, version control, continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD), DevOps - Experience in Resiliency patterns (Scalability, Pave/Repave), Self-healing, Chaos Engineering, Performance Monitoring, Continuous performance improvements - Experience of automating tasks and writing tools in scripting languages (Python, Bash) - OS and Web server experience (RHEL, Apache/Tomcat/Springboot) with strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills - Understanding of containerization platforms such as Docker / Kubernetes - Knowledge of Job Scheduling tools like Autosys/CTRL-M or Airflow - AWS cloud platform/services exposure - Experience building, changing, destroying AWS infrastructure using Terraform - Experience with or an understanding of data/event streaming technologies such as Kafka is a plus - Experience of Big Data platforms such as Hadoop / Spark is a plus - Experience with or an understanding of NoSQL, column-oriented / key-value distributed database systems such as Cassandra, HBase & Elasticsearch is a plus - Participate in the 24x7 support coverage as needed. To enable an effective response to off-hours incidents, a call-out rotation is maintained across the wider team.
