VP-Data Science/Analytics Lead

Role Overview: Jefferies Financial Group Inc. is establishing a Technology Innovation Hub in Pune to develop systems supporting global markets. As a Data Architect at Jefferies, you will be responsible for designing and maintaining cloud data platforms using Snowflake. Your role involves collaborating with various teams to create data models for analytics, reporting, and strategic insights. Key Responsibilities: - Design enterprise-level data architecture utilizing Snowflake - Define data models, schemas, and standards such as star, snowflake, and data vault - Architect data ingestion and transformation strategies (ETL/ELT) - Ensure scalability, performance, and cost optimization in Snowflake - Design data security and governance including roles, policies, and compliance - Select and integrate tools like dbt, Airflow, and Kafka - Provide guidance to data engineers and review technical designs - Establish best practices and maintain architectural documentation - Collaborate with business, analytics, and leadership teams - Plan cloud architecture across AWS Qualifications & Skills: - Deep expertise in Snowflake architecture - Experience with tools like dbt, Airflow, and Data Vault 2.0 - Proficiency in BI tools such as Sigma and Qlik - Strong SQL and data modeling skills - Knowledge of cloud platforms and ETL/ELT frameworks - Experience in data warehousing, analytics architecture, and performance tuning - Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance - Strategic problem-solving skills and system-level thinking - Leadership and mentoring abilities - Excellent communication and collaboration skills - Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and using Jira Education & Experience: - Bachelors or masters degree in computer science, Data Engineering, or related field - 710+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics - Snowflake and cloud certifications - Proven track record in architecture or lead roles - Experience with scalable dbt projects using Snowflake and Airflow - Strong sense of ownership, documentation habits, and attention to data quality Note: Jefferies promotes diversity and equal employment opportunities.
