Job Description
You will be responsible for ensuring the on-time delivery of complex, high-specification process and fired equipment in the Oil & Gas industry while maintaining stringent quality and compliance standards. As the Vendor Manager Expediting at Zeeco, your role involves:
Key Responsibilities:
- Critical Path Management: Monitor and control production schedules of sub-vendors supplying raw materials and specialized bought-out items.
- Field Expediting: Conduct physical shop visits at vendor locations to verify manufacturing progress.
- Desk Expediting & Procurement Coordination: Handle desk expediting activities, material procurement follow-ups, and technical query resolution.
- Troubleshooting & Risk Mitigation: Identify potential supply chain bottlenecks and implement recovery plans.
- Schedule Monitoring & Recovery Planning: Track vendor schedules and prepare recovery plans in case of delays.
- Drawing Review & Fabrication Guidance: Study engineering drawings and provide clear guidance to vendors on fabrication sequence.
Additionally, you will be involved in internal production coordination:
- Shop Floor Alignment: Coordinate with the Production Manager to ensure internal fabrication milestones are aligned with delivery dates.
- Document Control & Readiness: Ensure timely progression of key quality and engineering documents.
You will also be responsible for client, TPI & stakeholder communication:
- Progress Reporting: Provide status reports to Project Engineering teams, outlining progress, risks, concerns, and recovery plans.
- Pre-Inspection & Hold-Point Coordination: Organize and manage pre-inspection meetings with Third-Party Inspectors and client representatives.
In the logistics & project close-out phase, your responsibilities will include:
- Shipping & Dispatch Coordination: Manage the transition from "Finished Goods" to "In-Transit" and ensure timely completion of export packing, marking, and documentation.
- Final Documentation & Handover: Support timely completion of MDR submission and dispatch documentation for project close-out.
Qualifications Required:
- Experience: 712 years in Oil & Gas fabrication focusing on process equipment, pressure vessels, and skid packages.
- Education: Degree or Diploma in Mechanical / Production / Fabrication Engineering.
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of the fabrication lifecycle and testing procedures.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with Oil & Gas quality standards, inspection practices, and coordination with TPIs and client inspectors.
- Soft Skills: Strong negotiation capability and assertive diplomacy.
- Analytical & Planning Skills: Ability to interpret Gantt charts and use project management tools.
