Job Description
As a software engineer at Equifax, you will be part of a dynamic team working on various impactful projects using cutting-edge technology. Your role will involve the following key responsibilities:
- Perform general application development tasks such as unit testing, code deployment, and technical documentation.
- Contribute to projects by working on unfamiliar code, diagnosing and resolving performance issues.
- Collaborate with teams on estimating, testing, requirements, and project planning.
- Document code and processes to facilitate seamless collaboration among developers.
- Develop and operate high-scale applications across backend and UI layers with a focus on operational excellence, security, and scalability.
- Implement modern software development practices like serverless computing, microservices architecture, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Integrate systems with internal tools like Data Fabric and CSA Toolset.
- Engage in technology roadmap discussions to align business requirements with technical solutions.
- Work in an agile environment, triaging and resolving product or system issues, writing, debugging, and troubleshooting code in open-source technologies.
- Lead efforts for Sprint deliverables and solve medium complexity problems effectively.
Qualifications required for this role include:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience in software design with Java, Python, and JavaScript.
- Proficiency in software build management tools like Maven or Gradle.
- Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and frontend/web development.
- Experience in software testing, performance, and quality engineering.
- Familiarity with Cloud technologies such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
Additionally, the following skills could set you apart:
- Self-starter with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
- UI development expertise including HTML, JavaScript, Angular, and Bootstrap.
- Knowledge of backend technologies like JAVA/J2EE, SpringBoot, SOA, and Microservices.
- Proficiency in source code control management systems and build tools like SVN/Git, Maven, and Gradle.
- Experience working in agile environments like Scrum and XP.
- Familiarity with relational databases such as SQL Server and MySQL.
- Proficiency in Atlassian tools like JIRA, Confluence, and Github.
- Development experience with modern JDK (v1.7+).
