Job Description
As a Program Assistant in the Education sector with a focus on Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL), your role involves conducting research on available data, understanding trends, and developing monitoring and evaluation tools. You will be responsible for coordinating and undertaking regular needs assessments, surveys, impact studies, and project evaluations. Setting up systems to manage information generated through MEL activities and interpreting data using statistical techniques are key aspects of your job. Additionally, you will be expected to generate formal analytical reports and design outputs for various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on available data sources
- Understand trends and develop monitoring and evaluation tools
- Coordinate and undertake needs assessments, surveys, and project evaluations
- Set up systems to manage information generated through MEL activities
- Interpret data, analyze results, and document findings
- Generate formal analytical reports on program outcomes
- Design outputs and presentations for stakeholders
- Conduct data quality assessments through pattern and outlier analysis
Qualifications and Experience:
- Masters degree in Education, Development Studies, Economics, or related field
- 1-2 years of relevant experience for the Assistant position
- Field experience in implementing education programs is a bonus
- Proficiency in working with spreadsheets and data analysis tools
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Proficiency in Kannada is mandatory
- Deep understanding of education and Indian social contexts
- Ability to work in a team and willingness to explore new technologies
The place of work for this role will be in Bengaluru, with occasional travel across Karnataka and India.
