Job Description

As a Market Research Team Lead, your role involves leading a team to generate insights into the automotive ecosystem. These insights will be crucial for strategic planning, product roadmap development, and business growth initiatives. You will be responsible for team management, capability development, ensuring adherence to all systems and processes, and budget handling. Your key responsibilities will include: - Overseeing the design and execution of primary & secondary research to assess the automotive market, segment dynamics, and consumer trends. - Monitoring & analyzing emerging mobility trends, regulatory changes, and macroeconomic shifts impacting the automotive industry. - Analyzing competitor positioning, pricing, and go-to-market strategies. - Ensuring the delivery of market trend reports and forecasts through dashboards across segments & geographies. - Collaborating effectively with planning, marketing, and engineering teams to support business cases and strategic planning efforts. - Managing third-party research agencies and data providers to deliver high-quality custom studies and syndicated reports. - Presenting actionable insights to leadership through dashboards, presentations, and executive briefs. In terms of qualifications, you should have: - Bachelor's degree + MBA (Preferred) with a minimum of 60% marks. - Minimum 10 years to maximum 15 years of experience in Market Research / Product Research. Your technical/functional competencies should include: - Proficiency in research methodology knowledge (qualitative & quantitative). - Strong analytical skills to analyze data and derive meaningful insights. - Expertise in creating impactful data visualizations using tools like MS PowerPoint. - Proficiency in statistical software such as MS Excel, SPSS, or equivalent tools. - Strong business acumen with a good understanding of business portfolios, financial metrics, and their implications. On the behavioral front, you should possess: - Leadership and team management skills to lead and develop team capabilities. - Effective communication skills (verbal & written) for reporting and presentation. - Strategic thinking abilities to connect research findings with business implications and strategic goals. - Detail orientation with a strong attention to detail and a research-oriented mindset. - Collaboration skills to work effectively in cross-functional teams (CFTs) across product planning, engineering, marketing, finance, etc. - Self-motivation and eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges. The role requires strong analytical skills and a background in market research or product research.
