Job Description
As a Systems and Network Administrator Sr Specialist at Nasdaq Technology, your primary focus will be on supporting the building and maintenance of Nasdaqs networks. You will be expected to perform the following key responsibilities:
- Initial Response and troubleshooting of HP Open View and other monitoring tool alarms.
- Work on various first level projects and tasks as required.
- Collaborate with Operations and Engineering teams to ensure the availability and proper functioning of all network systems.
- Implement standardized LAN device configurations.
- Create a knowledge base, document standard config templates, and standard operating procedures.
- Capture and analyze network sniffer data.
- Certify new network gear is properly monitored through failure testing.
- Interface with and provide feedback to the network monitoring tools group.
- Maintain required spare hardware inventory at proper code revision levels in burn-in.
- Open hardware and software cases with network vendors (Cisco).
Qualifications we expect you to have:
- 9-13 years of experience in Network Administration with automation and system administration skills.
- Good understanding of automation background.
- Cisco certification is required, CCNA preferred.
- Organized, detail-oriented, with a high degree of accuracy and follow-up.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Desire to learn new technologies.
- Strong understanding of network concepts, TCP/IP stack, and common Internet protocols.
- Ability to work in a collaborative high-pressure environment.
- Develop and audit network system policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of financial trading systems and trade reporting methodologies is a plus.
- Bachelor's Degree in an IT-related field or equivalent qualification.
Desirable skills include proficiency in Python, Ansible, basic AI skills, experience in NOC environment, CCNP certification, basic F5 (BIG IP), and Citrix netscaler knowledge.
