Job Description
As an ICU Nurse, your role involves evaluating and monitoring the progress of patients in the ICU unit. You will need to identify sudden or subtle changes in a patient's medical condition and deliver regular updates to doctors, patients, and their family members. It is important to begin treatment, monitor doses, and respond to medical emergencies if necessary. You will be responsible for caring for patient needs throughout their recovery, completing all necessary paperwork before transfer, maintaining patient records, and creating effective care plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and monitor the patients' progress
- Identify sudden or subtle changes in a patient's medical condition
- Deliver regular updates to doctors, patients, and family members
- Begin treatment and monitor doses
- Respond to medical emergencies and alert appropriate doctors
- Care for patient needs in the ICU unit
- Complete necessary paperwork before transferring a patient
- Maintain patient records
- Create and implement effective care plans
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelors degree in nursing or a relevant field
- At least 1 year of experience as an ICU nurse or in a critical care unit
- Good understanding of health information structures and technology
- Available to work 12-hour day and night shifts
- Demonstrated empathy and communication skills
