Job Description
Role Overview:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer with expertise in SolidWorks at Enovix India R&D, you will play a crucial role in optimizing the design, simulation, and manufacturing workflows for advanced silicon-anode lithium-ion batteries. Your responsibilities will involve translating innovative concepts into robust, manufacturable designs to bridge the gap between R&D and production readiness, ensuring the integrity and performance of next-generation battery technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop accurate 3D part and assembly models of battery components and fixture systems using SolidWorks, focusing on detail, watertight surfaces, and optimized geometry for FEA.
- Manage CAD data integrity within PDM/PLM systems, streamlining part/assembly retrieval and version control.
- Integrate DFx principles into the design process, generating parametric models with manufacturing constraints, material specifications, and critical tolerances.
- Support simulation by delivering optimized CAD models, accelerate prototyping with detailed manufacturing drawings, and create clear drawings suitable for patent applications.
- Design ultra-thin cell structures, innovative venting systems, and critical battery components, ensuring functional superiority and manufacturability.
- Engage in collaborative design cycles with the simulation and process engineering teams to achieve optimized and validated designs.
- Translate conceptual sketches into fully dimensioned engineering drawings and establish meticulous version control procedures for CAD data.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelors or masters degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
- 4-5 years of experience in mechanical design with advanced proficiency in SolidWorks.
- Expert understanding of GD&T per ASME Y14.5 standards and experience in preparing CAD models for FEA.
- Practical application of DFM/DFA principles and creating comprehensive manufacturing drawings.
- Proficiency with PDM/PLM systems, preferably TeamCenter, and experience in high-volume manufacturing processes.
Application Process:
If you meet the qualifications mentioned above, you are invited to submit a comprehensive resume and a cover letter highlighting your CAD design achievements and DFM/DFA experience through the Enovix Careers Portal.
