Job Description

As a Sr. Application Support Engineer at Barclays, you will play a crucial role in evolving the digital landscape and ensuring unparalleled customer experiences through cutting-edge technology. Your responsibilities will include: - Providing technical support for the service management function to resolve more complex issues for a specific client or group of clients. - Developing the support model and service offering to enhance service to customers and stakeholders. - Executing preventative maintenance tasks on hardware and software and utilizing monitoring tools/metrics to identify and address potential issues. - Maintaining a knowledge base with detailed documentation of resolved cases for future reference and knowledge sharing. - Analyzing system logs, error messages, and user reports to identify root causes of hardware, software, and network issues and providing resolutions. - Proactively assessing support activities, implementing automations for stability and efficiency, and tuning monitoring tools and alerting systems. Qualifications required for this role: - Experience with Unix, Oracle-PLSQL, Java, Tomcat, Cloud-based solutions (AWS, Azure, aPaas/OpenShift/APIs), APM (ITRS and/or APPD), and scheduling tools (TWS and/or Autosys). - Good communication, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. - Highly valued skills may include knowledge of virtual environments, private/public cloud concepts, any programming language, automation exposure, Hadoop, and Quantexa skills. This role is based out of Pune. As a member of the team, you are expected to advise and influence decision-making, contribute to policy development, and take responsibility for operational effectiveness. You will collaborate closely with other functions/business divisions and lead a team performing complex tasks. If the position has leadership responsibilities, you are expected to demonstrate clear leadership behaviours such as listening, inspiring, aligning across the enterprise, and developing others.
