Sr. Application Engineer Control Systems

As a SCADA development engineer, your role involves developing Human-Machine Interface (HMI) application software using Third-Party software development packages such as Ignition SCADA, VT SCADA, Wonderware's InTouch, Rockwell Software's RSView, and Intellution's IFIX. You will be responsible for setting up computer system hardware for HMI development, configuring SCADA application software, developing custom reports, and providing HMI training as required. Additionally, you will be developing custom Operational and State Reports based on the Owners' requirements. Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with global teams are crucial, with experience in the Water & Wastewater industry considered an advantage. You will receive project requirements and direction through meetings with the Regional or Project Manager and review of the contract documents, and will generate and gather all required final project documentation while providing technical assistance to Customers. Key Responsibilities: - Ability to read piping & Instrumentation (P&ID) diagrams to utilize them for extrapolating process information on HMIs - Utilize I/O list to develop HMI tags, including the use of UDTs (User-Defined Types) for Ignition software - Understanding and ability to create master objects to support HMI development - Experience with graphic development on platforms such as Perspective (Ignition), VTSCADA, and Symbols (AVEVA System Platform) - Expertise in alarm configuration and management - Knowledge of approaches for data logging and management - Understanding of navigation philosophy between different screens and faceplates - Familiarity with implementing user roles, privileges, and security measures in SCADA - Knowledge of methods used to optimize system performance - Ability to develop detailed procedures for Factory Acceptance Testing within HMI development - Demonstrate standard methods for Quality Control throughout HMI development & testing - Ability to create comprehensive and user-friendly operational manuals specific to HMIs Qualifications Required: - Experience in HMI/SCADA Software Project Development - Proficiency in graphical animation of process data - Competency in process data entry, display, alarming, and annunciation - Knowledge of trending, data logging, VB & VBA Programming, Python Scripting, Handling SQL queries, Historian, and Reporting - Understanding of Industrial Network Communication Design and Implementation If there are any additional details about the company in the job description, please provide them for inclusion in the final JD.
