Sr. Application Engineer Control Systems

As a SCADA Development Engineer, your role involves developing Human-Machine Interface (HMI) application software using Third-Party software development packages, such as Ignition SCADA, VT SCADA, Wonderware's InTouch, Rockwell Software's RSView, and Intellution's IFIX. You are responsible for setting up computer system hardware for HMI development, configuring SCADA application software, developing custom reports, and providing HMI training when necessary. Additionally, you will develop custom Operational and State Reports based on the Owner's requirements. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with global teams are essential in this role. Experience in the Water & Wastewater industry will be advantageous. Key Responsibilities: - Utilize P&ID diagrams to extract process information for HMIs - Develop HMI tags using I/O lists, including User-Defined Types (UDTs) for Ignition software - Create master objects to support HMI development - Design graphics on platforms like Perspective (Ignition), VTSCADA, and Symbols (AVEVA System Platform) - Configure alarms and manage them effectively - Implement data logging and management approaches - Understand methods for data trending and representation - Design screen navigation for seamless user experience - Implement user roles, privileges, and security measures in SCADA systems - Optimize system performance and memory usage - Manage historical data and integrate with existing databases - Develop detailed procedures for Factory Acceptance Testing within HMI development - Implement quality control methods throughout HMI development and testing - Create comprehensive and user-friendly operational manuals specific to HMIs Qualifications: - Prior experience in HMI/SCADA Software Project Development - Proficiency in graphical animation of process data - Experience in process data entry, display, alarming, and trending - Knowledge in VB & VBA programming, Python scripting, handling SQL queries, historian, and reporting - Familiarity with industrial network communication design and implementation In this role, you will receive project requirements and direction through meetings with the Regional or Project Manager and review of contract documents. You will be responsible for generating and gathering all required final project documentation and providing technical assistance to customers. Your technical expertise and hands-on experience in SCADA development will be crucial in ensuring the successful implementation of projects.
