Job Description
As a member of the Manufacturing and Supply Chain team (MSC-X) at McKinsey & Company, you will have the opportunity to work closely with Indian client project teams on supply chain and integrated business planning related issues across various industry verticals. Your main focus areas will include E2E supply chain planning, quick & deep dive diagnostics with analytics, supply process design, and planning transformations & implementations. Additionally, you will collaborate with advanced planning solution providers and work hands-on with clients from different industries and geographical regions.
In this role, you will be based in either Gurugram or Chennai and will frequently travel to serve clients onsite. Your responsibilities will involve working with the MSC-X practice and consulting teams to design and implement advanced digital supply planning solutions. You will participate in the complete project lifecycle, from design to delivery of APS solutions, and gather customer requirements through workshops with functional and business owners. You will also work closely with architects to develop functional and technical designs, configure the APS platform, build datasets, execute workflow and data analytics test-cases, and lead junior system configurators.
To qualify for this role, you should have a post-graduate degree in operations management, statistics, or industrial engineering, with at least 5 years of overall experience. Experience implementing planning applications like Kinaxis, Blue Yonder, E2Open, OMP, Anaplan, Riverlogic, or AIMMS is essential, with a focus on either demand planning or supply planning. You should possess a deep understanding of supply chain planning concepts, statistical, optimization, and simulation skills, and proficiency in tools like R, SAS, and CPLEX. Additionally, knowledge of databases and languages like SQL, MDX, or T-SQL is desirable.
Your ability to lead by example, demonstrate proficiency in product and domain knowledge, and effectively manage and deliver to customer expectations, even under pressure, will be crucial in this role. Strong analytical skills, proficiency in Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint, and the capability to analyze and process large amounts of data will also be key in prioritizing and focusing on high-value opportunities or risks.
