Software/Platform Engineer II

Role Overview: As a Vantage Mainframe Developer at MetLife, you will be responsible for demonstrating strong hands-on experience in Mainframe development, with a focus on the Vantage product. You will be expected to design and implement complex solutions independently, adapt to new technologies in an Agile environment, and ensure the successful migration of activities to the target platform. Key Responsibilities: - Strong application development experience using Mainframe technologies such as COBOL, DB2, VSAM, JCL, CICS, FileAid, Changeman, and AbendAid. - Provide technical expertise for the Vantage product, including solution design, troubleshooting, and supporting migration activities. - Write high-quality code, conduct peer code reviews, and perform comprehensive testing. - Plan and execute various forms of testing, including unit, system, integration, regression, performance, and volume testing. - Manage implementation planning and coordination across development and deployment phases. - Facilitate technical discussions and group meetings, collaborating with business partners. - Demonstrate professionalism, enthusiasm, initiative, autonomy, ownership, leadership, and drive in day-to-day responsibilities. - Mentor and guide peers to foster knowledge sharing and team improvement. Qualifications Required: - Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, Finance/Accounts or related discipline. - 7 to 11 years of hands-on experience in MAINFRAME, COBOL, JCL, CICS, SAS, REXX, DB2, and VSAM. - Strong knowledge and skills in Mainframe, COBOL, JCL, CICS, SAS, REXX, SQL, Vantage Product, PS, PDS, GDG, SEQUENTIAL, INDEXED File Systems, DB2, VSAM databases, API development, GITHUB, OS390, Z/OS, Windows 2000/XP/7, MS WINDOWS, Cloud Experience, Jenkins, and Agile (Scrum) processes.
