Job Description
As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking Team, you have the opportunity to advance your software engineering career by designing and delivering trusted market-leading technology products. Your role involves working as a seasoned member of an agile team to ensure the development of secure, stable, and scalable technology solutions that align with the firm's business objectives.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Execute software solutions design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think innovatively to build solutions and address technical challenges.
- Create secure and high-quality production code, maintain algorithms, and ensure their synchronous operation with relevant systems.
- Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring that design constraints are met through software code development.
- Gather, analyze, synthesize, and visualize large and diverse data sets to continually enhance software applications and systems.
- Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data to drive improvements in coding hygiene and system architecture.
- Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies.
- Foster a team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
**Qualifications Required:**
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with a minimum of 3 years of applied experience.
- Experience with AWS cloud technologies, including S3, and SQL-based technologies such as MySQL or Oracle DB.
- Proficiency in Java and Python programming languages.
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming languages and database querying languages.
- Cloud implementation experience with AWS, including AWS Data Services like Lake formation, Glue ETL, EMR, S3, Glue Catalog, Athena, Kinesis, MSK, Airflow, Lambda, Step Functions, and Event Bridge.
- Expertise in data de/serialization formats such as Parquet, Iceberg, AVRO, and JSON-LD.
- Good understanding of AWS Data Security concepts, including Lake formation, IAM, Service roles, Encryption, KMS, and Secrets Manager.
- Experience with statistical data analysis and the ability to determine appropriate tools and data patterns for analysis.
- Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.).
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
