Job Description
As a Site Reliability Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking, you play a pivotal role in driving innovation and modernizing complex systems through code and cloud infrastructure. Your key responsibilities include:
- Guiding and assisting others in building appropriate level designs and gaining consensus from peers
- Collaborating with software engineers to design and implement deployment approaches using automated continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines
- Developing, testing, and implementing availability, reliability, scalability, and solutions in applications
- Implementing infrastructure, configuration, and network as code for the applications and platforms
- Resolving complex problems by collaborating with technical experts, key stakeholders, and team members
- Understanding service level indicators and utilizing service level objectives to proactively resolve issues
- Supporting the adoption of site reliability engineering best practices within the team
To excel in this role, you should have the following qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience
- Proficiency in site reliability culture and principles, and familiarity with implementing site reliability within an application or platform
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java/Spring Boot, and .Net
- Proficient knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a given technical discipline
- Experience in observability using tools like Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk, etc.
- Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or Terraform
- Familiarity with container and container orchestration tools such as ECS, Kubernetes, and Docker
- Familiarity with troubleshooting common networking technologies and issues
- Ability to contribute to large and collaborative teams by presenting information logically and compellingly
- Proactive approach in recognizing roadblocks and interest in learning innovative technologies
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills include:
- Ability to identify new technologies and relevant solutions to meet design constraints
- Initiative in implementing ideas to solve business problems
