Job Description
As a ServiceNow Custom Application Development Lead, your primary role will involve designing, developing, and articulating solutions for custom applications to meet specific business requirements using best practices. This includes the development and maintenance of various components, technical documentation, and implementation guides.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Implementing standardization and best practices for ServiceNow custom application development
- Designing and developing custom applications and features to meet business needs
- Developing Flows and Flow designer for custom applications and features
- Creating queries, reports, and dashboards
- Designing and developing custom Workspaces
- Developing Inbound Email Actions
- Managing integrations in ServiceNow using various APIs
- Configuring Business Rules, UI Policies, UI Actions, Scripts, SLAs, Notifications, and ACLs
- Importing data into ServiceNow using Scheduled Jobs, Flows, Import Sets, and Transform maps
Furthermore, you will be expected to enforce coding standards, assist in defining and implementing best practices for maintaining system health and performance, provide technical guidance, capture business requirements, define configuration and coding standards, drive timely issue closure, and develop technical process user manuals.
In terms of qualifications and industry experience, you should have:
- Minimum 6 years of industry and project experience with ServiceNow
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in developing custom apps using App Engine and Flow Designer
- Expertise in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Experience in implementing custom applications with custom tables, catalog items, Flows, script includes, portal widgets, ACLs, and business rules
- Strong knowledge of end-to-end ServiceNow Instance Upgrade implementation
- Experience in IT Service Management, ITIL, Agile, and DevOps environments
- Proficiency in ServiceNow coding, JavaScript, business rules, UI Policies, etc.
- Knowledge of ServiceNow ITSM and REST/SOAP-based integrations
- Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills
- Prior experience working with globally dispersed virtual teams
- Collaboration mindset, creativity, solution-oriented approach, and willingness to take on new challenges
Preferred certifications include:
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist ITSM CIS ITSM
- ITIL v3/v4 Foundation
