Job Description
As a Service Engineer Software support for the west region Pune area, you will be responsible for supporting software solutions and projects for customers in India. You will be a part of the Service Business Line, supporting our Industrial Technique Divisions Motor Vehicle Industry (MVI) and General Industry (GI) under the direct supervision of the Technical Service Manager DDS & Software Products. Your role will involve the installation and configuration of complex production systems, as well as providing technical analysis of installed solutions in case of malfunction. You should be capable of handling production critical systems in industrial environments and understand the connection between customer production processes and IT products/solutions.
**Roles and Responsibilities:**
- Integration of new software solutions into existing customer environments
- System installation and configuration
- Handling change requests
- Testing, validation, and problem analysis for error elimination
- Conducting customer trainings
- Supporting customers during pilot phases and production ramp-up
- Ongoing remote or onsite production support during the maintenance phase
- Following up on IT incidents
- Providing shift support
- Reconfiguration, modification, and software updates
**Experience Requirements:**
- Server and workstation administration on Windows and UNIX, including cluster technologies
- Installation and troubleshooting of hardware platforms
- Network technology and data communications
- ORACLE and Microsoft SQL Server installation and administration
- Webserver installation, management, and troubleshooting (Apache, IIS)
- Proficient in spoken and written English (other local languages are a plus)
- Basic knowledge in industrial automation, fieldbus technique, and PLC programming
- Experience with software programming and scripting languages is advantageous
**Educational Requirements:**
- Computer technician or scientist, system administrator, or equivalent with IT experience
- Alternatively, an electrician or similar profession with IT experience
**Personality Requirements:**
- Responsible, self-contained, and capable of handling complex multitask situations under pressure
- Proactive, dynamic, and enthusiastic
- Customer-focused with good interpersonal and organizational skills
- Adaptable to flexible schedules
- Willingness to travel frequently within the region and occasionally worldwide
