Job Description
As a Senior Tax Analyst at Mott MacDonald's Centre of Excellence in Mumbai, you will play a crucial role in tax accounting and reporting for the ISMA region to meet the Group's external reporting requirements. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the preparation and review of periodic tax filings such as VAT, corporate income tax, and withholding tax in collaboration with local finance teams to ensure compliance with regulations and internal controls.
- Supporting the delivery of quarterly and annual tax reporting for the region, aligning with Group Tax timelines and standards.
- Assisting local finance teams in preparing annual tax disclosures for standalone financial statements with accuracy and consistency.
- Maintaining and enhancing tax documentation and audit trails to support internal and external audits.
- Monitoring and interpreting changes in regional tax legislation, assessing their impact, and supporting necessary changes in compliance processes.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to gather relevant data and resolve tax-related queries.
- Supporting the monitoring of key risk areas with local finance teams and ensuring readiness for BEPS Pillar 2.0 reporting requirements.
- Managing tax accounting implications of current and future accounting or operational changes within the region.
- Contributing to process improvement initiatives to increase the efficiency and accuracy of tax compliance and reporting activities.
- Providing ad-hoc support to the Regional Tax Manager on local projects and initiatives.
Qualifications required for this role:
- Accounting and/or tax qualified, with a preference for a qualified CA.
- Fluency in English.
- Strong background in tax accounting and reporting, with 4-6 years of experience in leading compliance processes, including corporate & indirect taxation.
- Experience in Onesource is an advantage.
- Experience with implementing tax accounting or tax compliance technology solutions is also beneficial.
- Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Process improvement mindset.
