Job Description
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer -Plastics at STET, your role involves executing engineering requirements analysis, developing and validating test plans, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. You will document design specifications and results, implement design improvements, and troubleshoot technical issues. Additionally, you will mentor junior team members, participate in design reviews, provide insights for continuous improvement, and adhere to company policies and quality standards. Your responsibilities include evaluating external vendors and technologies for integration, maintaining component performance and reliability, and fostering strategic partnerships to enhance product innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing and detailing components and systems
- Obtaining parts and creating prototypes
- Interacting with associates in other departments to achieve project and product objectives
- Detailing requirements, preparing design specifications, implementing tests, and integrating units per higher-level requirements
- Ensuring efficient integration of separate modules into easily maintainable units
- Understanding and communicating the consequences of designs on the architecture
- Defining, executing, and leading concept and feasibility studies to explore new technologies
- Contributing to technology roadmaps and strategic activities
- Initiating technological or process-related improvements within the mechanical development group
- Inspiring team members and ensuring work is in line with agreed processes
Qualifications Required:
- Masters or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3-6 years of relevant work experience
- Strong communication and collaborative abilities
- In-depth knowledge and 3+ years of experience in the development of mechanical designs
- Experience in CAD/CAE tools such as Creo, NX, LCM
- Knowledge of metal or plastic crafts and experience in PDM/PLM systems
- Familiarity with development methodology and Six Sigma green belt certification is a plus
