Job Description
As a Procurement & Cost Reduction Manager in the Consumer Goods sector, your role will be pivotal in driving enterprise-wide sourcing strategy, supplier collaboration, and cost transformation initiatives. Your responsibilities will include:
- Strategic Sourcing & Category Leadership:
- Defining and implementing category strategies across various spend categories to deliver sustained cost advantage
- Conducting spend analysis, supplier market intelligence, and benchmarking
- Driving supplier consolidation, localization, and alternate sourcing
- Cost Reduction, Value Engineering & Innovation:
- Leading structured cost reduction programs
- Partnering with other departments to implement optimization initiatives
- Developing and monitoring annual cost savings pipeline
- Supplier Development & Negotiation Excellence:
- Identifying, onboarding, and developing strategic suppliers
- Leading high-impact commercial negotiations
- Establishing supplier performance management frameworks
- Digital Procurement & Analytics:
- Driving adoption of digital procurement platforms
- Building data-driven insights into category strategies
- Using predictive and prescriptive analytics for demand forecasting
- Sustainability, Compliance & Risk Management:
- Embedding sustainability and ESG principles into sourcing decisions
- Conducting supply risk assessments and building mitigation strategies
- Ensuring full compliance with legal, regulatory, ethical, and company standards
- Stakeholder Engagement & Transformation Leadership:
- Acting as a strategic advisor to senior leadership
- Collaborating cross-functionally with various teams
- Driving procurement transformation initiatives
- Business Development & Value Creation:
- Supporting procurement-led value creation initiatives beyond cost savings
- Developing compelling business cases and investment justifications
Your professional & technical skills should include:
Must Have Skills:
- Proven expertise in strategic sourcing, category management, and procurement transformation
- Demonstrated track record of delivering cost savings
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Hands-on experience with supplier development and risk management
Good to Have Skills:
- Familiarity with digital procurement platforms and advanced analytics tools
- Exposure to ESG-focused procurement strategies
- Experience with procurement process re-engineering and automation
The ideal candidate for this role will be a results-oriented procurement leader with a minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience. A B.Tech / BE / MBA degree is preferred.
