Job Description
As a Plant Maintenance Manager, your role involves designing and implementing the plant maintenance system to ensure that the plant machinery is in good running condition, minimize machine downtime, and optimize running costs. Your responsibilities include:
- Designing, reviewing, and implementing a maintenance system to optimize efficiencies and costs, and maximize output.
- Participating in daily activities and operational goal reviews, along with supply chain finance and the plant team.
- Supporting safety programs and driving safety initiatives by participating in EHS reviews and Safety Committee Meetings.
- Liaising with stakeholders for site Capex Business Cases and finalizing technical details of Capex projects.
- Ensuring cost effectiveness, timely execution, and forecast accuracy of significant CAPEX projects.
- Reviewing assets and asset disposal, upgrading plant technological competence, and driving productivity initiatives.
- Architecting an adaptive work culture that promotes company growth and ensures no production loss due to machine downtime.
- Implementing PeMM to deliver improvements and preparing and executing AOP for Repairs, Maintenance, Power & Fuel, FMOH, VMOH, and Capex.
- Meeting statutory requirements and optimizing energy, water, and waste through RECON implementation.
- Controlling purchasing of spares, categorizing engineering spares, driving cataloguing exercises, and increasing employee involvement.
- Monitoring import substitution, institutionalizing a hygiene and quality-focused culture, and leading the MFS pillar in AIB.
- Owning and driving applicable EHS roles and responsibilities, participating in risk assessments, and driving MESS compliance.
- Driving TPM and capability building for the Engineering function.
Qualifications required for this role include:
- Degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical / Electronic or Mechanical.
- 10-12 years of experience in the FMCG / Food industry.
- Sound process and equipment knowledge, with experience in improvement projects.
- Knowledge of Utilities such as HVAC, DG sets, Air Compressors, Nitrogen Generation Plant, ETP, and High-pressure Boilers.
- Good communication and negotiation skills.
- Experience in Union Management / LTS negotiations.
- Exposure to Green / Brown field projects and project Management.
