You have an exciting opportunity to join Merkle as a Front-End Developer in Pune at the Kharadi EON Free Zone. Here is a breakdown of what will be expected from you:
**Role Overview:**
As a Front-End Developer at Merkle, you will be responsible for front-end development focusing on JavaScript/TypeScript. You will need to have hands-on experience with Next.js and React.js in production. Your role will involve working on advanced CSS skills, API integration, headless CMS experience, web performance and optimization, testing and QA, version control, CI/CD, and design systems.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- 5+ years of front-end development experience with JavaScript/TypeScript
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Next.js and React.js in production
- Advanced CSS skills including CSS Modules, SCSS, PostCSS, and responsive design principles
- Expertise in RESTful APIs and GraphQL for API Integration & CRUD Operations
- Strong background in Sitecore, Contentful, Sanity, Strapi, or similar CMS platforms for Headless CMS Experience
- Experience with Lighthouse, Core Web Vitals, caching strategies, and performance monitoring for Web Performance & Optimization
- Proficiency in Jest, Cypress, Playwright, and UI testing strategies for Testing & QA
- Experience with Git (GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket), automated testing, and cloud deployments (Vercel, AWS, Netlify, or Cloudflare Pages) for Version Control & CI/CD
- Experience with Storybook, Material UI, TailwindCSS, or Radix UI for Design Systems
**Qualifications Required:**
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in building high-quality software
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a distributed engineering team
- Experience in Agile/Scrum development methodologies and proficiency with Jira and Confluence
- Strong communication skills to work effectively across cross-functional teams
**Bonus Skills (Nice-to-Have):**
- E-commerce Experience: Familiarity with Shopify, Commerce.js, or custom booking systems
- Basic knowledge of Node.js, serverless functions (AWS Lambda, Vercel Edge Functions), and databases (MongoDB, PostgreSQL)
