As a Senior Analyst in Data Science and Analytics at TransUnion, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development of credit risk management and business intelligence analytic solutions through consulting engagements and research for TransUnion's clients. Here is what you will bring and what we prefer to see:
**What You'll Bring:**
- A Bachelor's (4-year) degree in statistics, applied mathematics, financial mathematics, engineering, operations research, or another highly quantitative field.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in programming with a statistical language such as R, and experience with other programming and data manipulation languages like SQL, Hive, Pig, Python, C/C++, Java.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate at multiple levels within and outside the organization.
- Strong project management skills to handle multiple assignments effectively.
- Willingness to travel 10-20%.
**What We'd Prefer to See:**
- 6 months of professional experience/internships in performing analytic work in Financial Services or related industries.
- Familiarity with credit bureau data and business practices.
- Experience with visualization tools like Tableau.
- Advanced skills in Excel formulas, macros, and pivot tables for detailed analytical reports.
- Ability to work independently in a complex and dynamic environment.
- Experience working in a global company.
- Familiarity with modern big data frameworks such as Hadoop, Spark, and cloud technologies.
**Role Overview:**
As a Senior Analyst, you will partner with internal and external cross-functional teams to drive new business initiatives and deliver long-term value-added product propositions for TransUnion's B2B customers globally. This includes developing predictive risk management and business intelligence solutions for various financial institutions. You will contribute to analytic engagements involving descriptive and prescriptive analysis throughout the consumer lending portfolio lifecycle. Your responsibilities will also include designing and implementing programs for data extraction, segmentation, and statistical analysis on large datasets using languages such as R, Python, SQL, Hive, and Spark on server and cloud-based platforms. Additionally, you will deliver analytic insights and recommendations through compelling presentations for internal and external customers and executives, identify strategies for customers to adopt TransUnion's analytic products and services, and foster a culture of excellence within the organization.
