Job Description
You will be joining Flavours of Calicut, one of India's fastest-growing snack brands, known for bringing authentic Kerala snacks to modern consumers across the country. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing the company's accounting, compliance, and financial reporting processes.
**Role Overview:**
- The Senior Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring regulatory compliance, and establishing strong financial discipline within the organization.
- Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to thrive in a fast-growing startup environment will be key to your success.
- Working closely with the founder and leadership team, you will contribute to accurate financial reporting, regulatory adherence, and financial stability across the business.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Maintain accurate books of accounts and record all financial transactions diligently.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
- Prepare financial statements including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reports.
- Monitor revenue, expenses, and margins across various sales channels.
- Support financial analysis to facilitate informed business decisions.
- Compliance & Taxation
- Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, and other statutory regulations.
- Manage GST returns, TDS filings, and related reconciliations.
- Liaise with external chartered accountants, auditors, and tax advisors.
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance for statutory audits.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Handle vendor payments and supplier reconciliations efficiently.
- Monitor receivables from platforms, distributors, and retail partners.
- Maintain strong cash flow discipline by tracking outstanding payments.
- Inventory & Cost Tracking
- Collaborate with operations and manufacturing teams to oversee inventory accounting.
- Track product costs, manufacturing expenses, and margins.
- Support cost control initiatives and enhance financial visibility across operations.
- Financial Systems & Processes
- Enhance accounting systems, workflows, and internal controls.
- Assist in establishing structured financial processes as the company expands.
- Ensure thorough documentation of financial transactions and processes.
**Qualifications Required:**
- CA / CMA / CA Inter / MCom / BCom with strong accounting experience.
**Ideal Candidate Profile:**
- Experience
- 35 years of accounting experience.
- Experience in FMCG, food manufacturing, consumer brands, or startups is advantageous.
- Skills
- Proficient in GST, TDS, and Indian taxation.
- Familiarity with accounting software like Tally, Zoho Books, or similar systems.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership.
