Role Overview:
When you join Verizon, you will be a part of a community that values innovation, creativity, and impact. As a Cloud Security Engineer in the Verizon Cyber Security (VCS) organization, you will play a crucial role in embedding security seamlessly into the development and operations lifecycle of technology systems and services. Your main responsibilities will include integrating security into Agile/DevSecOps strategy and practices, building automation/ infrastructure as code to enforce cloud infrastructure security, and working collaboratively with the Cloud Security Engineering team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and promoting best practices for DevSecOps and secure CI/CD.
- Staying up-to-date on new security tools & techniques and driving innovation and process maturity.
- Designing and implementing automated cloud security controls using Python/Boto3.
- Collecting security-related metrics and increasing security visibility across the organization.
- Deploying and managing security tools to cloud infrastructure platforms such as Google Cloud or AWS through automation.
- Bringing continuous improvement to DevSecOps processes and tools.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelors degree or two or more years of relevant work experience.
- Four or more years of relevant experience in DevOps and Security Engineering Skills.
- Experience as a full stack developer with hands-on experience in DevSecOps practices.
- Proven track record of securely architecting and owning cloud platforms using Infrastructure as code techniques.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, Artifactory, and Ansible.
- Secure Coding Practices: Deep understanding of secure coding principles and common vulnerabilities in various languages.
- Experience with software development or scripting with at least one of these programming languages Python, Java, Node JS.
- Knowledge of Agile & DevSecOps methodologies.
- Development & Visualization: Developed interactive Power BI dashboards to visualize complex datasets.
