Job Description
As an Information Security Fresher, your role will be to support the organization in safeguarding sensitive customer, financial, and policy data. This will involve monitoring security controls, assisting in risk assessments, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and maintaining a secure IT environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in monitoring information security systems, logs, and alerts to identify potential security incidents.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of information security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Help conduct basic risk assessments and vulnerability assessments on applications and infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as IRDAI, ISO 27001, and data protection laws.
- Support access control management including user access reviews and privilege management.
- Participate in incident response activities like investigation, documentation, and reporting.
- Assist in data protection initiatives such as encryption, backup verification, and secure data handling.
- Aid in security awareness programs and phishing simulations for employees.
- Maintain documentation related to security controls, incidents, and audits.
- Coordinate with IT, application, and business teams to address security gaps.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, Electronics, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of information security concepts like CIA triad, risk, threats, vulnerabilities.
- Familiarity with network security fundamentals, operating systems (Windows/Linux basics), firewalls, antivirus, and endpoint security concepts.
- Basic knowledge of Identity & Access Management (IAM), encryption, data protection principles, and secure application development concepts (OWASP basics).
- Exposure to tools like SIEM, vulnerability scanning tools, and Microsoft security tools is preferred but not mandatory.
- Preferred certifications include ISO 27001 Foundation, CEH (Beginner level), CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent knowledge).
