Scientist I Human Genomics

As a Scientist I in Human Genomics at HaystackAnalytics in Navi Mumbai, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and automating bioinformatics pipelines for NGS sequencing services. Your role is crucial in ensuring accurate and personalized diagnostics for diagnostic labs and hospitals. Here's what we want you to do: - Analyze and manage NGS / Nanopore data using relevant pipelines. - Develop customized pipelines and workflows, and adjust current pipeline filters for NGS and Nanopore analysis. - Assist in developing and executing data management strategies. - Identify reliable databases, tools, and catalogs for future use and support the research team in data collection strategies. - Interpret genetic sequence variations identified through the pipelines. - Ensure data quality and accuracy. - Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent result generation. - Coordinate with wet lab and tech teams to ensure smooth operations and development work. - Troubleshoot data analysis tools and software issues. - Review literature for new technologies in Bioinformatics. - Write grants and papers for the company. - Create and maintain documentation. We are looking for someone with the following qualifications: - PhD in Genetics / Genomics or related fields, or 8+ years of experience in human genomics/genetics. - Experience in building bioinformatics pipelines for various NGS data. - Assisting in drafting and completing manuscripts for publication. - Handling various databases and tools. - Performing statistical analysis on datasets. - Proficiency in working on Linux OS. - Ability to read, interpret, and curate scientific literature. - Excellent communication skills (oral and written) with attention to detail. - Ability to learn new techniques, multitask, keep accurate records, follow instructions, meet deadlines, and comply with company policies. - 2-4 years+ experience in Python and 3-5 years in Bash scripting. - Experience with pipeline orchestration tools like Nextflow or Snakemake is a bonus. This is a full-time position with a salary range of 1,000,000.00 - 1,200,000.00 per year, along with health insurance and Provident Fund benefits.
