Job Description
As a Scientist B or C in the Wet Chemical Lab (Food Analysis) section at Gurugram, Haryana, you will have the following responsibilities:
- Calibration, Uncertainty calculation, and preparing requests for purchase of standards, chemicals, glass wares, and inspection/clearance of chemicals and reagents received in the laboratory.
- Preparation of Work instructions and SOPs for instruments and equipment.
- Carrying out environmental monitoring of the Food & chemical laboratory.
- Maintenance of log books.
- Maintenance and Standardization of titrimetric solutions.
- Participating in ILC & PT Programmes to successfully complete by excellent testing skills.
- Validating new methods of analysis with supporting documentation.
- Performing different wet analysis in various food matrix such as Cereal & Cereal Products, Bakery & Confectionary Products, Milk & Dairy Products, Spices & Condiments, Meat & Meat Products, Sugar & Sugar Products, Fruits & Vegetable Products, Honey, Proprietary Foods, Tea, Coffee & Cocoa Products, Beverages (Alcoholic & Non-Alcoholic) Nut & Nut Products, Herbal Products, Starch & Starch Products, Nutraceutical & Functional Foods, Poultry & Related Products, Packaged Food, Food additives and Preservatives, infant Foods, as per FSSAI, other regulatory bodies and according to customer specification.
- Performing chemical tests on food products like:
- Crude Fibre in Animal Feed
- Sulphur Dioxide in Cocoa Powder
- Amylose Content in Rice
- Adulteration in General food commodities
- Detection of Synthetic Colours in Confectioneries, Juices etc.
- Protein in Cereal Product
- Dietary Fiber in Biscuit
- Volatile Oil in Spices
Qualifications required for this position include:
- Experience in NABL-accredited Laboratory
- Post Graduate Degree/Diploma in food technology
- Excellent skill in computer operation
- Excellent analysis skills
- Strong detailed and organized digital and written documentation skills
- Time management skills
- Self-motivated and self-directed
- Goal oriented
- Able to multitask and prioritise
- Top presentation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong ability to carry out additional tasks with very little supervision or independently
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to easily solve varying degrees of problems relating to the work environment
- Possesses energetic and manual dexterity
- Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment, while being flexible to handle urgent jobs as they arise
